Enhancing Worship

Contact: Shirley Dickey, Parish Receptionist, 202-363-8286 x200 or shirleyd@st-albans-parish.org

Assistive Listening Devices

For those with auditory difficulties, an assistive listening device may help you to hear better, in coordination with a hearing aid or if no hearing aids are worn at all. A device is available from the ushers, who will show you how to operate it and suggest a seating location for the best reception.

Child Care on Sundays

Child care is provided in the Children’s Center upstairs in Satterlee Hall by experienced and trained care givers. Go through Satterlee Hall at the Lych Gate entrance to the main stairwell. At the top of the stairs turn right. There is a “baby” room and a toddler room for children up to three years old. The hours are 9 am–1 pm. There are paging devices you may use. Parents are welcome to pick up their children and bring them to the Church to receive the Eucharist or a blessing. Please contact the Reverend Harriette Sturges, hsturges@st-albans-parish.org or 202-363-8286 if you have concerns or suggestions.

Memorial Flowers for the Altar

Altar flowers are usually given in remembrance of deceased loved ones. Names of those who are remembered are listed in the Announcements and included in the prayers on Sunday. Flowers may also be dedicated on a birthday, anniversary of death, or any occasion. Contact: Adelaide Brown, 202-363-1917 (h)

Prayer Requests

To have your prayer requests included in the Sunday service and printed in the Announcements, contact Marcia Welch at 202-363-8286 x208 or marciaw@st-albans-parish.org. Prayers for those in need remain on the prayer list for two weeks. Prayers for other purposes are listed for one week.

Members of our Prayer Chain are dedicated to daily prayer on behalf of those who request it. The Prayer Chain is also a “safe” place to be remembered in prayer if you would rather not be prayed for publically in the context of the Sunday service. To have your prayer request remembered by our Prayer Chain, contact Nancy Usher Williams at 301-654-2447 (h) or n.u.williams@verizon.net.

Recordings of Services

Audio cassette recordings of the 11:15 am Sunday services are available by calling the Parish Office to request a cassette of a particular service. Cassettes will be mailed only to those who are unable to attend services due to physical or transportation reasons. Others may pick up their requested tapes at the Parish Office. For those able, a $3 donation will cover our cost.

Sermons by Mail

Printed copies of sermons by mail are available to those who are unable to come to services regularly, or for those who do not have access to this web site. If you would like to be placed on the mailing list, e-mail the Parish Office or call 202-363-8286. Sermons can be found on this site in the Sermons & Stories section.
