Services

Our life together as a community of faith is built around the joy we experience through worship. Worship serves to deepen our relationship with God and with each other so that we might live out our commitment to our Lord. Each of our services has a slightly different feel and flavor. We hope that you will find a place that speaks to your heart in one of the following worship opportunities.

8:00 am · Holy Eucharist

Early birds of all ages enjoy beginning their Sabbath with worship. This service is celebrated with our traditional Rite I Eucharist and a homily. It is followed by coffee hour. Childcare is not available.

9:15 am · Holy Eucharist

This Rite II Eucharist is family friendly but appeals to worshippers all ages. The music is led by the Canterbury Choir or the St. Alban’s Choristers and Alban Singers. Young people take an active role in worship as acolytes and ushers with the youngest children joining us from Children’s Chapel at the Peace. Individual healing prayers for yourself or someone you love are available during this service. There is nursery available for babies and children to age 3 in Satterlee Hall.

9:15 am · Children’s Chapel

At the beginning of our 9:15 service, children, ages three through seven, participate in their own liturgy of the Word, hearing Bible stories, praying and singing. Children's Chapel meets in Nourse Hall. The St. Cecilia Choir sings for this service once a month. Parents are welcome to accompany their children if they like. The children join their parents for the Eucharist at the Peace.

9:15 am · Teen Service

St. Alban's Teen Service is held in the Little Sanctuary at St. Albans School. This interactive service offers teens time to talk about life, the Gospel, and celebrate Eucharist together. Friends are always welcome.

11:15 am · Holy Eucharist

This late morning service continues our worship using the Rite I Eucharist with music led by the Salisbury Choir and Alban Singers. Individual healing prayers for yourself or someone you love are available during this time. There is nursery available for babies and children to age 3 in Satterlee Hall.

4:00 pm · The Washington Home · Upton & 37th Streets NW

Everyone is invited to join St. Alban's volunteers at the Washington Home and Hospice to read Evening Prayer or to celebrate Holy Eucharist with residents and their families. This service enriches the lives of the residents and all who attend. Washington Home is located at Upton and 37th Streets NW.

5:30 pm · Holy Eucharist

This relaxed service provides a good choice for those who relish informality in worship or for those whose schedules make attending an early evening service more convenient. It offers a “hands-on” opportunity for participants to read the lessons and prayers, and to serve the chalice.

Weekday Services

A short prayer service led by a member of the Parish clergy or staff.

First Wednesday each month · 7:30 pm ~ 12-Step Eucharist

A 12-Step Eucharist weaving the steps and prayers of AA into the liturgy in a very meaningful way.
